Despite a huge selection of colors, patterns and fabrics, making the right choice is not a big challenge. You just need to know some common mistakes and how to avoid them. The first is an incorrect width. The fabric must be wider than the wall because you want the drapery to have beautiful folds. Add some extra inches to make it look nice. Another mistake is a wrong fabric density. For dark rooms buy sheer fabric. If you want to block sun light in the morning, use denser fabrics or blackout lining. The third mistake is incorrect length. There are standard lengths to select from – 1 inch above floor length or on the floor or some in classic scenarios prefer 2 inches on the floor.
